Do yall know that when James Brown dropped "Say it Loud (I'm Black and I'm Proud!) his crossover sales suffered tremendously? Did yall know that after that, the U.S. government started giving him issues about taxes??? Historically we have suffered for declaring pride in our heritage while other groups have been celebrated for it. BUT GUESS WHAT: as long as society tries to tell us the Black is less, we'll be here to push back. Black is beautiful. And we are proud. PERIOD.
